Micron Demonstrates World’s First 512GB DDR5 Server RDIMM Module
Micron Technology has demonstrated the world’s first 512GB DDR5 RDIMM server memory module on multiple mainstream server platforms, marking a big breakthrough in ultra-high-density server memory technology.
This new memory module adopts advanced TSV vertical stacking packaging technology. It can reach a data transfer speed up to 9200 MT/s. With one single 512GB RDIMM, a dual-socket server with 24 memory slots can support maximum 12TB DDR5 memory capacity.
Compared with using four 128GB memory sticks to get the same total capacity, the new 512GB module cuts power consumption by over 60%. It is perfectly optimized for AI large language model inference, in-memory database, virtualization, simulation and other memory-hungry data center workloads.
